November 30, 2015 marked the 50 year anniversary of Ralph Nadar's
book: Unsafe at any speed.
The book is responsible for saving untold lives. Ralph set out to bring
awareness to the inner workings of the auto industry, most specifically safety, or
lack thereof. Our government listened.
Ten months after publication, President Lyndon Johnson signed the
National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
A study released this year estimates that 613,000 lives have been saved
between 1960 and 2012 because of advances in safety
technology and standards.
