Father Killed Helping Strangers Stuck in Mud: Stop DIY Towing

Mom Raising Awareness Proper Towing Techniques

ARTICLE

It's truly disheartening to read about accidents
that could have been prevented.

Here we have a good samaritan trying to assist
a car stuck in mud.  The towing hitch boomeranged
coming through the driver's windshield killing a father of 3.

When people insist on doing it yourself
towing, inevitably problems occur.

Unfortunately this story ended in fatal consequences.

Please folks, call a professional, don't do DIY
towing, why take the risk?

Sizzling Hot

..asphalt, that is!

As we approach the hottest time of summer
be aware that the pavement is heating up
and this heat is brutal on your tires.

The National Highway Safety Administration
reported that over 11,000 accidents were caused
last year by under-inflated tires and road heat.

To avoid an accident and injury be sure
to keep your tires properly inflated.

Remember, we're just a phone
call away if you do require
emergency road service.

Jaws

...........you know summer is here when all the demon whales
or man eating shark movies start appearing on TV.
As I was busily cleaning the house yesterday, in
the background was the movie channel........
playing these wonderful summer movies.

So where were you summer of 1975
when the release of Jaws made it's debut?,
Has your life ever been the same again, I don't
think so! I know mine hasn't as I tip toe my way to
the oceans edge and go no further!

There's another Jaws doing great works.......
The Jaws of Life

Our team has arrived at many emergency
roadside calls where the jaws of life was
used to free those stuck in a mangled vehicle.

So you see Jaws isn't all that bad!

It takes a special person

...............to work in the towing industry!

I wanted to take a moment this morning to
recognize all tow truck driver's who come to our rescue.

Whether you have a flat tire, run out of gas, lock your keys in your vehicle,
get yourself stuck in the mud or you're involved in an auto accident.

Some years ago I was on a four lane highway in my brand new car.
I was returning from the local airport that was about an hour from my home.

In the dark of night I lost all electrical power inside the car, I had head beams
but nothing else.  Of course I was in a state of panic.

What to do?  I called AAA!

I pulled off to the shoulder of the road and that in itself was terrifying (well
to me it was).

I'll never forget how patient, kind and calm the truck driver was - which
immediately put me into a state of calmness.  He explained that it
was more than likely a blown fuse, no big deal and for me to bring the
vehicle to the dealer in the morning.

Seeing that I was a single woman traveling alone with my young son,
the tow truck driver offered for me to follow him until I reached my exit,
just a few miles up the road. Once off the highway I was able to navigate
on my own.

Yes, it takes a special person to be a tow truck driver.

At George's Custom Towing you can
count on us to respond to all your
emergency roadside towing needs.
