I went to the auto parts store and they did the diagnostics you suggested.  

It appears I do have a "vampire" that's drawing a slow charge from my battery.  

I wouldn't have known what to do without your advice and could have 

spent needless dollars fixing what wasn't the problem.

The George Tip:  go to AutoZone or most automotive stores and have them run a

free diagnostic on your vehicle, this will help to identify a potential problem.

Morning has broken

.........and I'm having car trouble.

What does it mean when your Hyundai starts acting

like a mac truck?

Remember the TV commercial where people describe to the

mechanic the sounds their car is making, well mine was

making a grinding, swooshing sound.

The big tell tale sign is that I could barely turn the wheel................

kind of like a mac truck.

Well off to Jiffy Lube I go, to top off my fluids.  I tell the guy "I think I need

power steering fluid"..................Oh yes!  Seems the hose to the

power steering is leaking. A new hose cost $225.00!

Well for now I'll just keep filling the fluid up, 

although I know I don't have too long to play with this and

can foresee having to call a tow truck in my future

if I don't handle this.

How to Drive in Snow and Ice

The three key elements to safe winter driving are:

• Stay alert; 
• Slow down; and 
• Stay in control

It is best to winterize your vehicle before winter strikes.  

Schedule a maintenance check-up for the vehicle’s tires and tire pressure, 

battery, belts and hoses, radiator, oil, lights, brakes, exhaust system, 

heater/defroster, wipers and ignition system. Keep your gas tank 

sufficiently full – at least half a tank is recommended. Depending upon 

where you drive, you may consider using winter tires or tire chains.

Move Over

Governor O'Malley has expanded the State of Maryland's

Move Over laws to now include Tow Truck Operators.

This law will go into effect October 1, 2014 and

comes with a hefty fine of $500 if not adhered to.

The law states if you see a tow truck driver on the shoulder, 

you must move into an open lane away from the tow truck 

or slow down to a safe speed.

This is the same law protecting first responders; police, 

emergency vehicles and now tow trucks.
