The coveted trophy goes to............the Patriots!
Famous words of Vince Lombardi, coach of the Green Bay Packers back in the '70's,
"Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing."
These words were used to inspire his players to
gridiron glory. Along with his winning record, Lombardi was known
for his passion for the sport and demand for excellence.
Initially called the World Professional Football Championship Trophy,
in honor of Lombardi the trophy has since been called the
Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy.
The handmade sterling silver trophy features a regulation
size football set on a three-sided stand. It stands 22 inches tall,
weighs 7 pounds and is engraved with the NFL logo,
game date and location, team names and games final score.
A new trophy is created each year, so the champions can keep it for display.
This year the trophy goes to the
New England Patriots
