Some Serious Gas Increases

I'm sure you can't help but notice the price of gas increasing

every single day.  This impacts business and consumers as well.

It seemed like yesterday the price was $2.00 gallon.........and it was!

Now, here in Whiteford, MD  the rate is up to $2.48!  That's a heck of a jump.

So I went looking for info to find out why and found this great article

Last night my mother and myself got stuck in a snow drift (Heaps Rd).

Car 44 where are you?

What.........and why?  Who would take such a risk stealing

NASCAR No. 44?

Truly boggles the mind.

Car 44 has now been returned to it's North Carolina

NASCAR shop after being found along a remote road

in suburban Atlanta.

Unfortunately the car wasn't found soon

enough to compete in the Atlanta Motor

Speedway race this past weekend. Team XTREME

is still trying to hunt down the trailer that

goes with the car.

Move Over For Emergency Vehicles

A Message from AAA


Governor O'Malley has expanded the State of Maryland's

Move Over laws to now include Tow Truck Operators.

This law went into effect October 1, 2014 and

comes with a hefty fine of $500 if not adhered to.

The law states if you see a tow truck driver on the shoulder, 

you must move into an open lane away from the tow truck 

or slow down to a safe speed.

This is the same law protecting first responders; police, 

emergency vehicles and now tow trucks.

Truth in Advertising

..........well I took a chance, that maybe just once there was some truth

in a commercial that I've been seeing lately from AARP Auto insurance program.

As in "we will lower your auto insurance payments by $400/month"..........

The real catch for me and what prompted me to go to their website and

spend 8 minutes completing the application was the renew- ability clause

they offered.  This is perhaps the only reason I've stayed with my current 

insurance company State Farm - they can never cancel my policy due to

an accident, not that I ever have accidents.

To make a long story short...... the AARP insurance would

cost me $720 more per year than what I currently pay State Farm and

for less coverage............
(well, I suppose if one person saves $400 then there is some truth in advertising)

So, now AARP has all my personal information and

I can already feel the onslaught of emails that will be

arriving in my in-box.  But hey, I truly believed that maybe

this one time there would be truth in advertising. NOT!

So while I was fiddling with my State Farm policy

I realized that I had towing coverage and I am

covered for a rental car too!  Well that takes the edge off!

I know that if I were stranded, my main priority would be

to get a tow truck to my location as soon as possible.  I

wouldn't necessarily be thinking about whether or not my insurance

covered this situation.  So maybe it's a good time to take

a look at your policy too!
